Winter To Do List

Winter is not in danger of winning any popularity contests amongst sun-loving Joburgers. So when winter hits the highveld and shocks us out of our cozy, amiable summer-haze we are understandably less than impressed!

Perhaps we need to try harder to get the most out of winter. Unfortunately the black sheep of the seasons won't land comfortably in our laps like summer does with balmy afternoon braais and warm, glowing sunsets. Winter's memorable moments need to to be fetched and held onto tightly.

Here are a few tips to survive winter but the number one rule is:

DO NOT HIBERNATE

You will emerge from winter grumpy and hungry. Rather get out and about and explore this fabulous city. Jozi is alive with activities and events...

DO EAT GOOD FOOD

Make the most of our sunny days and the incredible artisanal food on offer. These Markets could take you to new, unchartered territories and will help you appreciate the rich, bustling cultural landscape of Jozi.

DO CELEBRATE DAD

Plan something different for Father's Day. Drive out to The Cradle of Humankind and enjoy the beautiful surroundings whilst listening to live music.

DO KEEP MOVING

DO INDULGE YOUR INTERESTS

Make use of this quieter time to do the things you've always wanted to. Be it learning to play golf, going to art exhibitions, taking more photographs or just spending more quality time with family and friends. These kind of things will enrich your life and make winter more bearable.

DO SEE FRIENDS

Plan get-togethers at home and try to include a fun element like a games evening or a Christmas in July Party.
